Perfection Autosport 1968 Charger R/Te featured in MOPAR
Collector’s guide
August 20,2007
Grafton, WI – When they say “Don’t Just Dream It, Drive It!”, the
guys at Perfection Autosport are not blowing smoke. Back in June,
they proved their company motto by driving their recently
completed 1968 Dodge Charger R/Te 1547 miles on the HOT ROD
Magazine Power Tour and receiving the coveted Long Hauler award
for completion of the entire tour. At the time, a lot of folks
stood up and took notice of one of the most radical custom MOPAR’s
on the planet. Amongst those that noticed was the staff at MOPAR
Collector’s Guide, recognized throughout the automotive enthusiast
industry as an authority on all things MOPAR.
Within the six page feature article appropriately titled “Sawed
Off Shotgun”, writer Randy Holden gives an expert and in-depth
look at the creation of the world’s first E-body Charger. Editor
and photographer Rob Wolf captured the feature images that bring
into focus the bold design and radical customization that made the
R/Te a “Power Tour Show Stopper”. Look for the October issue of
MOPAR Collector’s Guide on your local newsstand next week, and
enjoy reading about the Charger R/Te’s adventures on the tour. See
page 32 for the full feature article. |

2007
has been a great year for custom car designer David Salvaggio, Jr.
and his company Perfection Autosport. They have received numerous
national awards for their unique automotive creations, and their
work has been featured in various automotive publications
throughout the US. But when an automotive creation crosses into
mainstream media, it has transcended from machine to art.
INSIDIOUS, a custom-built 1970 Dodge Challenger built by
Perfection Autosport, is the feature vehicle in the “Driven”
section of this month’s edition of GO Magazine, AirTran Airways
in-flight magazine. The subject of the article is the resurgence
of the American muscle car rebuilt with new and updated
technology. According to author Jim Gorzelany, “Fortunately, a
number of entrepreneurial companies are making what amounts to
fresh versions of classic cars for those who want something
distinctive yet familiar with up-to-date specs.”
AirTran Airways is a business class airline serving the eastern
and central regions of the US and is headquartered in Orlando, FL.
AirTran flies 20 million passengers each year to 56 destinations. |
